Liga MX Femenil viewing guide: 2024 Apertura, Week 3

What even is a schedule?

Ok it’s been a weird couple of weeks, with games being re-arranged to make room for some of the teams to play in the NWSL X Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup. Games have been on non-traditional days (Tuesday games?!) and it’s been a bit of a scheduling issue, but the league is pressing on nonetheless. I’m glad to an extent that they’re trying to keep a semblance of normalcy since it’s only six of the eighteen teams in the tournament, but perhaps next time games can be moved without all of the scheduling gymnastics that have happened this time around.

Game of the Week

Of the games that are going to be played, Pumas vs. Juárez shot up to the top of the list when it was announced yesterday that Desirée Monsiváis was leaving Pumas and heading to Juárez. Personally, speaking as a Pumas fan and a fan of Monsiváis, this one stings but hopefully it’ll be a move that works out for everyone involved. The good news is that we’ll all get to (legally!) watch her first game against her old teammates today on ViX.
