Liga MX Femenil viewing guide: 2024 Apertura, Week 11
This week could see one of the best slates of games in recent memory.
I’d like to apologize to you dear reader, as there was no Week 10 post. The Thursday dates combined with a hectic personal schedule (I was in New Jersey for work) meant that I simply didn’t have the bandwidth to spare.
This week however I’m back and we are in for a treat. It’s a rare week where just about every match is between teams of similar stature, but this week is one of the best in terms of quality that I can remember. Seriously, watch as many games as you can this week, they’re all most likely going to be worth your time and attention.
Game of the Week
This one is so tough because of how close the matched-up teams are. While it’s tempting to weasel out and tell you that all of them are the Game of the Week, I’ll actually pick Tijuana vs. Tigres as my GOTW. Tijuana has been playing well lately, smoking a good Pumas team 5-1 this past week. Tigres has been playing well also, sharing the league lead with Pachuca. They will however have to travel from Kingston, Jamaica, where they played Frazsiers Whip in Concacaf W Champions Cup play on Wednesday all the way to Tijuana to play on Monday. Tigres will really be up against it, and I think Tijuana has the quality to push for a win on home turf. Throw in two of the league’s top goal scorers in Jacquie Ovalle and Aisha Solórzano, and this has all the ingredients of being an all-timer.
