Liga MX Femenil viewing guide: 2023 Clausura, Week 10

How to (legally) watch all of this weekend's Liga MX Femenil games in the United States and México.

The good news is that there are only two games that won’t be legally available in the United States, Puebla hosting Querétaro and Pachuca hosting Mazatlán. The bad news is that México isn’t going to Daylight Saving time, so most games are listed in Mountain Daylight Time here in the US. Plan accordingly.

It’s also another jornada where it’s difficult to pick a game of the week. Most of them are between teams that are pretty evenly matched even if the teams aren’t doing all that well in the standings. The only real mis-matches are Necaxa vs. Tijuana and Pachuca vs. Mazatlán, which those could even be viewed as being potential upsets (although even my rose-colored glasses aren’t rosy enough to see that realistically happening).

I was however able to pick just one…

Game of the Week

Chivas hosting Monterrey has the markings of a great match. Rayadas are perfect through nine after hammering Pachuca last week. Chivas meanwhile eked by Querétaro on the road 1-0, but Querétaro has conceded just seven goals all season long and that was just the second at home all season. Two of the three clubs who have conceded less than Gallos? Chivas (6) and Monterrey (1).

The difference is that both Chivas and Rayadas can score in droves. The one thing that could be a damper in this one is that Chivas is starting to rack up injuries. Licha Cervantes has been out since January 24 with a sprained left knee, and seemingly suffered a mild setback at the end of February injuring her right hamstring. Litzy Serna and Cynthia Rodríguez will also miss the match, with Serna suffering a compressed nerve and Rodríguez a quadriceps muscle injury.

Still it should be a fun one to watch since both teams are so strong. Rayadas’ Christina Burkenroad has been on an absolute tear, getting a hat-trick in the last match to bring her season total to nine so far. Chivas’ home field advantage could however be the tipping point, for better or worse. It’ll be on the same field the varonil team will be on less than 24 hours prior when they take on archrivals Club América in the Súperclasico. The match will be on FOX Sports in México and UNIVERSO over-the-air in the United States, which means viewing on the Telemundo Deportes app is contingent on having a UNIVERSO subscription.
