Unfortunately, Megan Rapinoe went out early due to injury. (The Athletic - possible paywall)

Lindsay Gibbs published this great look back at one of the defining moments of Rapinoe’s career - her kneeling in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and the night the opposing club thought it would be a good idea to pre-empt her protest by not allowing the players to come out for the national anthem.

The World Leagues Forum was established in San Diego ahead of the NWSL Championship. Comprised of heads of 41 members from five of FIFA’s six federations, it’s doing the work to create a platform for all of “the professional football leagues on a world level with political and sport bodies and foster cooperation between them.” (World Leagues Forum)

IFFHS released their Women’s Club Continental Rankings for OFC, Concacaf, CAF, AFC, CONMEBOL, and UEFA. In case you’re wondering, Barcelona is the top overall with 577 points. (IFFHS)

Hammarby won the Damallsvenskan, Sweden’s top division. Their club has been one of the few in Europe to go out of their way to integrate their women’s team in with their men’s, which lead to scenes like this during the final, which was away at BK Häcken.

Don’t ever let them tell you no one pays attention to women’s soccer.
