All the news that's fit to print, and then some...
Mostly good news this week, as we saw Mother’s Day being celebrated, youth tournaments, and record crowds for women’s soccer matches. I especially love the record crowds, and I celebrate all records equally.
Building sustainability into attendance numbers (and measures of interest in a sport in general) is absolutely critical to the long-term success and growth of the women’s game. To me, a derby in Sweden that drew almost 8,000 people is just as important as the FA Cup Final in England drawing over 77,000 people because you don’t get to 77,000 without getting to 8,000 first.

In less good news, Bea Parra and Marta Perarnau may not be returning to Atlético San Luis next season, which is not the choice I’d make if I was San Luis. (Misael Eymar Espericueta’s Twitter)
Xolos Femenil won the Torneo Femenil Chivas Sub15 2023, drawing the hosts 1-1 and winning in penalties. A Sub15 tournament would be a great addition to Liga MX Femenil, which already has a Sub18 division… (Xolos)

Don’t ever let them tell you no one pays attention to women’s soccer.
