Ex-Tigres Femenil Best XI
One of the best teams in league history, Tigres' current roster is fearsome. However, how good would a roster of former players be?
In the six years of Liga MX Femenil’s existence, Tigres Femenil has really been the benchmark of excellence. They have won more titles than anyone else, appeared in more finals than anyone else, and always seem to have the most amount of players headed to the national team.
This season however, Tigres hasn’t been as indestructible as always. They’re having a down season, however the context around that is that they could lose four games for the first time in club history. They’re still set to make the Liguilla, as they have done every season prior, and have four names on the latest national team roster.
The institution can only be as good as their players however, and Tigres has had some of the best players in the league come through their ranks. How good? I took a look at all of the players who were with Tigres going back to the beginning, and decided it would be a fun exercise to put together a gameday roster. I feel like I did pretty well with it, and would put it up against any team in the league.

All the way back to the beginning…
Thank you for reading Golazo del Gringo! If you enjoyed reading this post, please share it with anyone who enjoys women’s soccer.
Goalkeeper - Ana Gaby Paz: It was tough between Paz and Alejandra Gutiérrez, but Ana Gaby has been one of the reasons Atlas is a perennial lock to make the Liguilla.
Left Back - Miah Zuazua: I still think more of Zuazua as a left winger but if she’s good enough to play left back for the national team she’s good enough to play left back for this one.
Center Back - Julissa Dávila: Dávila has become a solid center back in this league, anchoring Atlas’ back line for three years during their transformation into respectability and now doing the same for San Luis.
Center Back - Carol Cázares: Now playing with VIktoria Berlin in Germany, Cázares is a regular with the U20 national team and has a bright future in the game.
Right Back - Paulina Solís: Solís had a short stint at Pachuca before joining Juárez during the 2022 Clausura and while she is still more of a bench option, she’d be a great addition to a team that’s fairly thin on defense.
Central Midfielder - Vanessa González: González has been an integral player at both Atlas and San Luis during their building (re-building?) projects and would be a great fit in this midfield.
Central Midfielder - Jazmín Enrigue: Enrigue is a “glue” player - one that may not be a superstar but holds the team together. Currently captaining Querétaro, her leadership would be a massive asset.
Left Wing - Fabiola Ibarra: Here’s where selecting players starts to get hard. While this team is chock full of forwards, Ibarra was a no-brainer. She’s been solid for every team she’s played with and is an absolute menace on offense. She can cut in and score, remain wide and cross, and can hit an olímpico on a corner kick.
Central Attacking Midfielder - Carolina Jaramillo: Jaramillo’s playmaking abilities are among the best in the league. She makes all of the forwards around her better, and with this crew that will be a problem for everyone they face.
Right Wing - María Sánchez - “La Bombi” is one of the best on-the-ball players that’s ever played in a league full of very good on-the-ball players. She’s a living, breathing highlight reel that can dribble through a defense, pick out a perfect pass, and score from anywhere.
Forward - Katty Martínez - This was the most difficult position to pick, but Katty Killer is one of the best we’ve seen in Liga MX Femenil. No one else has more goals in the history of the league then her, and with these other forwards I’m confident she’d hit her next hundred in no time.
Bench: Alejandra Gutiérrez, Akemi Yokoyama, Jaquelín García, Natalia Miramontes, Natalia Gómez Junco, Uchenna Kanu, Alison González
